Town of Stanton Plan Commission Minutes: July 14, 2014
Chairman Josh Edhlund called the meeting to order at 6:00pm. Members present: Joel Wittenmeyer, Pat Smith, Cheryl Hoffman, Melissa Schutz. Township residents in attendance were Allen Andrews, Jim Mihalski, Elaine Grutt, Rich Monn, Steve Nielsen, Glen and Colleen Lehrke. Dolly Catlin from Dunn County was also present.
Minutes of the June 10 meeting were approved. Smith/Hoffman
Bob Colson gave a detailed presentation explaining the General Ag district in the new zoning ordinance. He pointed out differences from our current Ag zoning such as: only single family residences are allowed in the GA district; a parent parcel of 40 acres can be split using 1:8 ratio with 50% remaining open space; smaller parent parcels use the same 1:8 ratio and 50% open space; parcels less 8 acres cannot be split.
Colson answered a number of specific questions from residents. He pointed out that residents can request a zoning change at any time as long as the township oks the request

Board meeting minutes as of July 21, 2014
Present: Chairman Monn, Supervisors Joel Wittenmeyer and Steve Nielsen, Clerk-Treasurer Val Windsor and townspeople Pat Smith
Due to family emergency Kevin will not be here tonight.
Motion to approve June minutes as mailed was made by S. Neilsen, 2nd by R. Monn. Approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance on hand as of July 1, 2014 $28,488.62
Total July Receipts $58,255.38
Less July Disbursements $64,049.54
Book Balance as of July 31, 2014 $22,964.46
Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report as mailed was made by R.Monn, 2nd by J. Wittenmeyer. Approved.
Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by S. Neilsen, 2nd by R. Monn. Approved.
Maintenance Report: 130th is all paved. Kevin has been working on the shouldering.
Chairman Report: Government Accountability Board sent out a notice of a few minor things to take care of for the polling place. It is just changing the door knob to make it more accessible and posting notices and also a van accessible sign in the lot.
Supervisors Report: Question was asked about the legal part of the zoning for the county, it was made clear that the county is still responsible for the legalities.
Clerk-Treasurer Report: August 12th primary election is all set to go.
Committee Reports: Plan Commission – Bob Colson was here for the meeting for the residents on July 15th. Meeting went well and all felt questions were answered.
Fire/Ambulance – Had a brief meeting, they awarded the RFP to 5 Bugles to do the assessment for the new fire building.
New Business: Nothing to act on for Plan Commission at this time. This will stay on the agenda so when they need action, it will be on there.
Kevin’s Contract – Kevin asked if we would do an extension on his current contract until January 1, 2015. Due to his current health insurance issues he would like to research insurance further and write the contract the first quarter of 2015. Motion was made to continue Kevin’s contract until AT LEAST the first of the year by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Nielson. Approved.
Public Comment: July 4th, Steve Nielsen got a call from Dunn County Sheriff’s Dept , a tree was down over the road. Steve and his son got it taken care of.
