Board Meeting minutes of October 20, 2014
Chairman Monn called the meeting to order at 7pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI.
Present: Chairman Monn, Supervisors Joel Wittenmeyer and Steve Nielsen, Maintenance Kevin Finder, Clerk-Treasurer Val Windsor and townspeople Pat Smith
Motion to approve September minutes as mailed was made by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance on hand October 1, 2014 $2,226.18
October Receipts $21,674.60
Less October Disbursements $14,015.38
Book Balance as of October 31, 2014 $9,885.40
Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report was made by R. Monn, 2nd by J. Wittenmeyer. Approved.
Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Maintenance Report: Wondering what to do with the TV’s from roll-off, as he hasn’t found a place to get rid of them. Kevin will try to get a hold of someone who might be willing to take them for $5 each.
We will look into raising the price for next year on TV’s for roll-off.
Town of Springfield may be interested in sharing the boom mower with us next spring.
John Deere came out and took pictures of the bucket a few weeks ago and Kevin still has not heard back from them. Rich suggested we call and get a price from Frontier Ag out of New Richmond.
Kevin will have tire prices ready for us at the next months meeting.
Chairman Report: Resident called Rich and said he wasn’t aware they needed a building permit. Our building inspector will be out to our next months meeting to answer questions. We will also get out a newsletter and state the needs for building permits.
Supervisor Reports: None
Clerk-Treasurer Report: General election is all set for the November.
Bakke –Norman is raising their attorney fees for the new year to $185/hour.
Agenda items for next month: Dunn County Humane Society contract, Building Inspector, Budget Hearing.
Val handed out Financial Documents from the Audit for 2013.
Committee Reports: Plan Commission should be all set with the county. Their next meeting is November 28th.
Fire/Ambulance Report: Preliminary cost for new fire building is 1.5 to 2 million. They had much discussion on this as many were not comfortable with the cost and will bring it back to next months meeting.
New Business: Plan Commission items – Their next item is to start the comprehensive plan.
Public Comment: Question was asked about trucks running from the mine during school bus hours. We have nothing is writing, but it was stated they are not supposed to be running during those hours. Rich is asking for specific times and he will call to see about this.
Question was also asked about mining sand/land selling on Lorenz’ land. As of now, it is only a rumor.
