Board meeting minutes of April 20, 2015
Chairman Monn called the meeting to order at 7pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI.
Present: Chairman Monn, Supervisors Steve Nielsen, and incoming Melissa Schutz, Maintenance Kevin Finder and Clerk-Treasurer Val Windsor, townspeople Nick Schaff, Pat Smith
Motion to approve March minutes as mailed was made by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance as of March 1, 2015 $20,301.11
March Receipts $45,635.68
Less March Disbursements $58,260.15
Balance as of March 31, 2015 $7,676.64
Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report as mailed was made by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Maintenance Report: Dumpsters are set for May 9th Roll off. Road Inspection is set for Tuesday, May 5th.
Boyceville Fire wishes to thank Kevin for assisting in the fire off of Hwy. Q
Chairman Report: Road damage was caused on 890th. Sheriff was called and a complaint was filed. Sheriff stated we could charge the offender for cost of up to 3 times the amount of gravel and labor. At this time, the township will send them a letter to state we are aware of the issue and give them an official warning.
Rich talked to someone loading a large street sweeper onto a flatbed dump truck on 890th; because of the road bans being on Rich told him he would need to leave the truck there. He claimed he didn’t know about any road bans but an hour later the truck and sweeper were gone.
Supervisor Reports: Question was asked about the fire call on Q and the bill. It will be the responsibility of the property owner.
Clerk-Treasurer Report: I checked with Best Buy on a cell phone booster for the shop. Prices range from $150-$400. Val will get one before the next meeting.
Committee Reports: Plan Commission is planning to meet May 4th. Bob Colson will be in attendance.
Fire/Ambulance: Rich went to look at the Grantsburg Fire Station. They are in a similar situation as we are as far as the communities they service and the struggle with finding the volunteers. They built a building about a year ago and it cost them 1.6 million. Rich is still working with Design Built to figure out numbers.
Ambulance Open House – May 23rd,10am-4pm.
Kevin’s contract was opened by both the town and Kevin.
New Business: Patrolman’s Insurance – Because of new law in effect we cannot legally continue to pay his health insurance under the heading “health Insurance”. We can continue to pay Kevin for this under an “on call” pay.
By agreement of both parties we will pay as directed above.

Pubic Comment: Question was asked about our ordinance on littering. Rich advised to call the sheriff and file a formal complaint.

Rich read the minutes from the 2014 Annual meeting
Motion was made by S. Nielsen to give Kevin a $500 bonus as a thank you for taking such good care of the equipment and roads, 2nd by R. Monn. Approved.
Motion was made to raise the poll worker pay to $11 (from $10) by R. Monn, 2nd by N. Schaff. Approved.
Motion was made to raise the wage for the recycle attendant to $11 per hour (from $10) by M. Schutz, 2nd by P. Smith. Approved.
Rich pointed out the Town of Stanton has zero indebtedness.
