Board meeting minutes of December 16, 2018
Chairman Monn called the meeting to order at 7pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI.
Present: Chairman Monn, Supervisors Bob Anderson and Steve Nielsen, Clerk-Treasurer Val Windsor, Maintenance Kevin Finder and townspeople Karl Hackbarth
Motion to approve November minutes as mailed was made by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance on hand, November 1, 2018 $16,032.22
November Receipts $57,156.19
Less November Disbursements $15,941.20
Book balance as of November 30, 2018 $57,247.21
Motion was made to accept Treasurer’s Report as mailed by B. Anderson, 2nd by R. Monn. Approved.
Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by R. Monn, 2nd by B. Anderson. Approved.
Maintenance Report: Talked with resident about planting too close to the road a few years ago, he continues to do the planting too close. He has caused damage to the road by getting his disc too close, Kevin has pictures of this damage. He will have to repair the road after road inspection as well as pay to repair the ditch if needed.
Motion was made to get a new copy machine for the town shop by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Neilsen. Approved.
Chairman Report: None
Supervisor Reports: Stray dog showed up at Anderson’s house, Bob called the deputy and had them come pick it up.
Clerk-Treasurer Report: Checked on the Edge (election) machine from Colfax, it was already sold.
Our January meeting we will be having the Caucus for the township officers for the ballot in the April election. We will also have to resign the Clerk-Treasurer contract.
I will continue to check to see if we can get another election machine.
Plan Commission Report: None
Fire/Ambulance Report: Rich and Bob attended the fire meeting. Banker was there and had some figures. Our share for the new fire truck will be 21% of the total amount, due March 1st of every year, for the next 10 years. Bids for new building will go out February 1st and they hope to break ground in April or May. Next meeting will be January 16th at 6:30pm.
No New Business
Public Comment: Comment was made about taxes going down a little. We, as a township, have no control over assessments.
Questions were asked about the building permits. Val will ask Joe Atwood to send us an email every month on who and how many building permits were issued.
